Russ began a sales career with a Fortune 500 Company in 1977, and was named in the Top 1% of sales performance (President’s Honor Club) for 3 straight years.  First became a distributor in Network marketing in 1980 and after building a substantial personal sales organization, part time, earning in excess of $10K per month rose to Executive Corporate management from the field, as a Divisional Vice President.  Has owned and managed several other enterprises including, a Watch manufacturing and marketing company called : Time for Sports, Inc. and a Limousine service known as Success in Motion.

Russ has been a student of personal development since 1977.  In 1990, He founded The Success by Design Institute, Inc. , an International  sales training and consulting company based in Chicago.  In 1992 SBDI was incorporated as Success by Design and based in Scottsdale, AZ.

Russ has been engaged in the development of network marketing sales organizations and creating new methodologies in Multi-level sales for nearly 30 years. He is a much sought after speaker, trainer, consultant, and coach and a multi million dollar income earner in NWM.  DeVan is responsible for creating a new “model” for how people can enjoy productivity and success in the Network marketing Business. Russ developed and teaches new “distinctions” for  the conventional paradigms of selling, recruiting, prospecting, and goal setting with the objective of increasing productivity through people ‘remembering’ how to be powerful, effective, and most of all “themselves.” Russ refers to this as his “Un-training .”

Russ DeVan was a contributing Editor to “Upline” and was chosen as one of the Five “original” Upline Masters  during the seminar series  that lasted from  1991-2000. Russ was the subject of several articles and interviews in Success magazine, and in 1995 was chosen for the premier issue of “Working at Home.”

“Working at Home” featured the homes and stories of 25 of America’s “Top” home based business entrepreneurs;  Among  them – Mark Hughes; Dexter Yager; Dennis Waitley;  Kenny Trout; and Paul Zane Pilzer, and others.   He has shared the stage and program with such notable figures as Les Brown, Jim Rohn, and Bob Proctor.

In his book “Beach Money” Jordon Adler credits Russ’ coaching and direction as contributing to the Author’s six figure a month income and stellar success in MLM.
